Four Ways to Milford (1957)

A New Zealand Film Unit Production... This film covers the four ways of getting to Milford. It shows a cruise ship that has come into the Sound from the sea; it follows a party up Lake Te Anau and over the Milford Track; it depicts the route up the Eglinton Valley, through the Homer Tunnel and down to the hotel at the head of the sound. A launch trip up the sound to the entrance on the coast displays the attractions and beauty of Milford itself. The film concludes with an aerial sequence describing the fourth way to Milford. The mountains, lakes, rivers, bush, birds and flowers of Fiordland feature largely in this film. Courtesy Archives New Zealand.
