In New Zealand's war archives there is a file entitled "Cape Expedition". It is a code name covering the occupation of the Auckland and Campbell Islands. This film tells part of the story enclosed in the covers of that file" - Opening text of the film. The Golden Hind departs Dunedin harbour for the Auckland and Campbell Islands to carry men to replace the coastguards presently stationed on the islands. Once landed they see large groups of penguins and seals.
